Mobile proxies for price monitoring

Track UK prices, stock and promotions as real shoppers see them — on the mobile connections they shop from.

Why use mobile IPs for price checks

Retailers can show different prices, stock and offers depending on where a visitor is and how they connect, and many retail sites put bot protection in front of their product pages that challenges datacenter traffic first. A check from a cloud server can end up looking at the wrong price — or a CAPTCHA.

UK mobile IPs are shared between many real shoppers through carrier-grade NAT, so they look like ordinary customer traffic and see what a UK shopper on their phone sees.

What you can track

Setting up a monitoring job

# Python: fetch a product page through your proxy
proxy = "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:HTTP_PORT"
page = requests.get(url, proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30)
# between runs: give the modem a new IP
requests.get("https://<your-rotation-url>")

Questions

How often can I check prices?

We don’t meter requests on fixed-term plans. How often you can check without being challenged depends on the site, so start slow and rotate the IP between runs.

Can I see app-only prices?

Yes. Install the proxy’s OpenVPN profile on a test phone and use the retailer’s app — it sees a UK mobile shopper. On most modems you can use WireGuard instead.

Which carrier should I choose?

Any works for most sites. For large jobs, spreading proxies across several carriers gives you a wider mix of IPs.

Which tools work?

Anything that supports an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with a username and password, from Python requests and Scrapy to commercial price-tracking tools.
